I played the role “PT” aka “Prime Time” I remember working on MacArthur Park like it was yesterday. It was a very organic set.
I didn’t know much about the director Billy Wirth before shooting, but as the shoot went on I found he was a collaborator. I also found out about the road he traveled to get the script and get the film made. Amazing to say the least.
He is a director who directs you without getting in your way. I think his career, as an actor has been a valuable asset to his directing. Watching Mac Arthur Park you’ll see the characters and you’ll fall in love with the good ones as well as the bad.
That’s the secret charm of this film.

Hi Everyone,
Even though I have had the MP DVD for sometime now & have seen it several times, we naturally watched it on Sundance both times the other night. Will have it on again tonight as well.
I sent a feedback message to Sundance today as I think that is most important and sure hope they get lots of positive responses. I missed seeing Billy's commentary too and really consider that to be necessary for the average viewer to give them insight into the film. Hope Sundance will decide to include that in the scheduling. I will send them message about it today.
As a long-time supporter of Billy Wirth, I would like to thank you for featuring his thought provoking directorial debut of "MacArthur Park". In addition to being an incomparable actor, this production proves his ability as an inspiring director. "MacArthur Park" is an intense story of how one can overcome the dark reality of desperation and gives hope to those who struggle to survive. It sends an important message as well to the public that the plight of the homeless should not be ridiculed or ignored. Kudos to Billy Wirth and Sundance for bringing this insightful and humanizing drama to life.
Have seen MP many times, but we always get a better understanding of it each time. I feel it is a necessary message to people to give them a better awareness of what it is really like to be homeless. The general attitude is negative as a result of misinformation and ignorance. So hopefully, will this open their eyes.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Sooooo, hey everyone ~ what did you think of MacArthur Park????
I was personally blown away by it ~ gritty, tragic and almost had the feel of a documentary. I rented it a week ago, but waiting to watch it on TV first. So now I have kept the rental for another week so I can watch it again ~ it definitely requires another viewing for sure.
I am completely and totally impressed by Billy's direction ~ as much as I love seeing him in front of the camera, I think he has a great future as a director. I was also amazed at the names that appear in the movie. Not major stars, but well known in indie films and smaller movies.
I'd love to read what others thought.

Well at long last I saw MP.
It is an exceptional piece of filmmaking. While Mr. Wirth's work in front of the camera is very good and enjoyable to see, I believe his truer calling is behind the camera. My only regret is that more people have not had the opportunity to see this film.
I hope Mr. Wirth is going to start directing a new film soon. I think MP could be used as a teaching/learning tool since it is such an accurate portrayal of real life. Bravo, BW.

MacArthur Park was a very well done movie. Very Powerful, as well as thought provoking. It also gave me an eye opening perspective of the impact drugs can have on not just the person using them but the family they leave behind.
It also showed me what it is like to be homeless and drug addicted as well as the will power it takes to fight your way back. This movie makes you feel.
Billy did a great job making that happen. I give this movie 2 thumbs up!!!

MACARTHUR PARK REVIEW 2004
The full feature film, McArthur Park (MP), directed by the multi-talented Mr. Wirth, has made it's way through the film festival circuit and is presently out on DVD. It will be airing in August on the Sundance Channel. Reviews have been excellent. The film is well done and it's characters well defined.
The story Mr. Wirth conveys is that addictions are no respecter of persons. Whatever the "drug" is...if it controls you, it's an addiction. What Mr. Wirth has done here speaks well of his spirit and intent.
"MacArthur Park has been around for a long time and over the years it has evolved into this place where the homeless congregate. This film is really about hope and not giving up on a loved one. If we turn away from drugs, violence and gangs and not deal with those issues we're not going to be able to heal as a whole society."
The behind the scenes story told in the "Special Features" section of the DVD in itself tells a story with heart. It's very touching

Hi everyone,
I'm a Billy fan but I 've never posted before. I enjoy reading what you all write but I'm at work and usually too busy to write. However, I wanted to post my thoughts on McArthur Park . I rented the DVD about a month ago....I was thrilled to see MP being so prominently displayed at Hollywood Video! I actually watched it twice...once without the commentary and then again with the commentary...mostly to hear Billy's voice. It has to be the sexiest voice ever!
The movie is very character driven and I got wrapped up in their stories; I found myself thinking about the movie for several days after. I have never been exposed to the down and dirty underworld of drugs, and this movie exposed to me a life I have never seen.
I felt as though I was really there with the characters. Billy and his crew did a wonderful job of producing this movie. His selection of the actors for their roles was awesome.
